2017 MERGE Sunday School

For 4 weeks this summer, the Adults, Youth, and Children will “MERGE” their Sunday School classes together for combined study at 9:40-10:50am on Sundays.

Adults will meet in the Chapel and will receive flight lessons from a special facilitator from the BCMD each week on our theme for the year, SOAR: Spiritual habits, Outreach lifestyle, Active service, and Relational health.

Here’s a look at the Adult MERGE schedule:

August 6 – Relational health, facilitated by Tom Rodgerson

August 13 – Active service, facilitated by Ellen Udovitch

August 20 – Outreach lifestyle, facilitated by Doug Dubois

August 27 – Spiritual habits, facilitated by Randy Millwood

The Youth (Grades 6-12) MERGE Sunday School will meet in the Youth Barn to study Life Bible Study’s “Sequence, Following Christ in Radical Surrender,” focusing on Christ’s identity, submitting to God’s will, taking up your cross, and becoming a servant of Christ.

Here’s the Youth MERGE schedule:

August 6 – “Getting In Order” Matthew 16:13-24

August 13 – “Deny Yourself” Luke 22:39-46; 1 Peter 1:13-19

August 20 – “Take Up Your Cross” Mark 15:16-39; 1 Peter 4:12-19

August 27 – “Follow Me” John 21:15-22; 1 Peter 2:21-25

The Children’s (age 5 – Grade 5) MERGE Sunday School will meet in room D215/216 to study a unit on Jesus as the Healer from the Gospels of Mark and John where children will learn that Jesus healed people from sickness, sin, and death. The theme verse is Psalm 103:2-3. Preschool children will continue to meet in their regular rooms at 9:40am.

Here’s the Children’s MERGE schedule:

August 6 – “Four Friends Helped” Mark 2: 1-12 (Jesus healed a man and forgave his sins)

August 13 – “Jesus Has Power Over Evil” Mark 5:1-20 (Jesus healed a man with many evil spirits)

August 20 – “Jesus Healed a Woman and Raised a Girl” Mark 5: 21-43 (Jesus healed a bleeding woman and raised a girl from the dead)

August 27 – “Jesus Raised Lazarus” John 11:1-7, 17-44 (Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead)
