OC mission trip meeting THIS Sunday

Our Youth & Family Mission Trip to Ocean City will be August 3-10.

Our “youth” mission trip this year is actually a family trip.  We have an interest meeting this Sunday, Feb. 24, after the 11:00 am service (about 12:20) in the ROC Foyer.  Pizza will be provided.  It is very important that interested people attend this meeting, because our meeting will help determine what ministry options we choose to do on the trip.

What sorts of ministry options could we choose from?  Any number of options exist, including light facilities projects, heavier construction, sports camps, other kids camps, etc.

There will also be set ministry, including multiple outreaches to international students, life guard ministry, parents night out, surf camp, and a family night campfire at Assateague Beach.

This year, all are welcome, and we are adding a family emphasis to allow family groups to bond together over a mission trip.  But the trip is open to more than family units.

If you think you are interested, come to the meeting!  You’ll hear about pricing options and other aspects of the trip.

52 Verses – A verse a week to help your family grow strong

“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”  Psalm 119:11

By learning and living God’s truth, we are enabled to please God and be successful.  Families are the best environment to learn and live God’s truth.  So parents, we have a resource for you.  There are 52 Bible verses for you to discuss – 1 per week – with your family.  Help each other learn it.  Discuss it together.  Let it be a theme for each week to live out as a family.

Family Ministry Overview: Come hear how we help your family thrive

At Redland, we want every family to discover how they can enjoy great relationships and passionate faith that fills the home and spills out from it.  Simply put, we are passionate about families enjoying God’s best for them.  That’s why I’m so excited to invite you to hear about an upcoming opportunity.

We are holding three, one-hour sessions that give you an “overview” of our strategy to come alongside families and help them thrive.  Our family ministry team has worked hard and developed a plan to help you succeed as a parent and pass your spiritual DNA on to your children.

Join us and hear how we are coming alongside you.  Choose from three meeting options, all at Redland Baptist Church:

  • Sunday, Feb. 17 at 9:40 am in the Chapel
  • Sunday, Feb. 17 at 5:30 pm in the Loft
  • Rescheduled: Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 6:30 pm in the Barn

You’ll sense our passion for your family’s success along with our plan to help you achieve it.  This is for parents/guardians of children at all stages of development or for anyone interested in starting a family or helping families succeed.  No RSVP necessary.  Just pick which event you’d like to attend.

Kevin Freeman
